I am an apparel and textile designer, aiming to create thoughtful clothing for humans.
Hi, I’m Courtney.
In my 13+ years in the fashion industry, I’ve designed and developed womenswear and menswear across diverse product categories. I’ve worked on everything from performance outerwear to sports bras to demi-couture gowns. Near and dear to my heart are sweater knits, richly textured jacquard fabrics and natural fibres.
I am currently the Senior Designer of Collaborations at lululemon, having previously designed for lululemon lab, the brand’s elevated concept. My past experience includes stints at Mary Katrantzou and DKNY, with a focus on product development and knitwear. I received my BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design with a major in Textiles and a minor in Literary Arts.
Outside of work, I love food, wine, pop culture, and writing – and combine these interests in my newsletter FOOD COURT.
My Offerings:
-
I offer design services across a range of product categories, including outerwear, wovens, and knits (cut/sew, fully fashioned, and seamless). I have even designed a wedding dress. I offer a unique creative perspective and understanding of market trends alongside a strong knowledge of fit and garment construction. I am proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign and have experience with several PLM programs.

A true textile nerd, I am well versed in the construction of both woven and knit fabrics as well as dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques. I've worked with mills globally to source and develop beautiful fabrics, finessing the ideal aesthetic, handfeel and functionality for their intended end use, with an emphasis on sustainability. I also specialize in swatch/texture development for knitwear.

With a fine arts background, I love building narratives through colour and print. I love designing colour palettes, and can assort colour across a collection through a creative and commercial lens. I develop surface artwork through both analog and digital mediums and have experience working with engineered prints in addition to all-over repeats.

I love the sociological aspect of fashion and the stories told by how people dress. I have a deep appreciation of fashion history and vintage, as well as the connection between clothing and pop culture (my brain works in references). I can put together trend reports, concept decks and moodboards, and help to shape strategic and creative direction.
